Overcoming water shortages- Suman & Tyler

Suman and Tyler started the company Smart Paani under One Planet Solution in 2012. The venture markets a range of rainwater harvesting, grey-water recycling, and water filtration systems. An experienced team of technicians and researchers with the experience of installing over 300 systems work with them. The venture provides eco-friendly and economical solutions to overcome the severe water shortages in the capital.

With the ever present problem of water scarcity, over-exploitation of ground water and lack of proper water management around the city, the venture is more than just a good idea – it is a blessing! Within a year of establishment, Smart Paani has already become a successful venture. Growing awareness among potential clients and existing clients like different business offices, INGOs and NGOs, private homes and schools have helped Smart Paani become a quick success. The team has already installed more than 150 systems in Kathmandu including several respected institutions like The Asia Foundation, the United States Education Foundation, and Prisoner’s Assistance Nepal. They are now planning to expand beyond the valley and into alternative energy solutions with their new venture Smart Urja.
